These lights aren't bad, they probably work better in small areas but put out more light than I would like . I have a higher powered version and not sure if that would have affected the glow. It gets REALLY hot, but that's to be expected with this kind of light. They glow more than expected in the white spectrum, so things that "pop" in regular blacklight don't look as strong. They throw the light quite far through the room and I think they would be good for using wide, spooky or stage lights like in a theatre, haunted house, Halloween garden decor or similar, but STRICTLY "GLOWING APPEARANCE" like into a glow in the dark. dark stars on the ceiling or crazy posters on the walls - no. They just throw off too much light and you don't really get the "dark" part.
