We already had a styrofoam puzzle that my toddler loves so I bought 3 more for Christmas. All puzzles are made from large, durable foam pieces that are easy for little hands to grip. Collectively they are a soft foam that they play with like a floor mat until we remove them. My only complaint is that they don't fit in the box unless you're keeping a lot of parts together. Another styrofoam puzzle came in a bag so all the pieces could be detached and put away ready for the next use. With them we have to keep them in pieces because the box is tight, which means that when it comes time to put the puzzle together we have to disassemble everything first. This is not a deal breaker - just a suggestion to the creators to make the box bigger next time :)
