Review on πŸ”Œ DYWISHKEY 320 Pieces: Premium Brass Bullet Terminals with Insulating Sleeves for Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Bike – Male & Female Wire Connectors by Robert Capers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Detailed specifications required!

Summary: This is a very affordable replacement for Tamiya RC Snap connectors. The receptacle accepts up to 14 AWG silicone wire and THHN wire, but you'll have a hard time installing the isolator in the first place. Advantages: 1. Inexpensive, supplied in large quantities (80 pairs for RC motors).2. The connector insulator fits very tightly to the insulator of your wire up to 14 AWG.3. Very easy to crimp if you have the right tool. Cons: 1. No detailed electrical specifications for this product. What is the current rating? What is the nominal voltage? What is the maximum ladder size? 2. The plug uses a very soft metal. Be very careful when connecting plug and socket.3. Missing instructions for installing isolators. I'm glad I have a demo of Tamiya's instructions and I understand the plug and socket insulator designation and installation direction, but the seller should not assume that every handyman knows how to prepare these plugs. Tips for future buyers: 1. The shorter insulator is for plug and the longer insulator is for socket.2. Strip the wire about 1/8" (3mm), then put on the connector insulator and pull it back just 1/4" past the stripped wire. It is best to perform this step before crimping the connector. It may also be worth putting some lube on the wire to make it easier for you to pull out the connector insulators. BE CAREFUL! Make sure the grease you use is suitable for the conductor insulator (sheath), not all wire sheaths are oil resistant. It is important to choose the right lubricant.3. Crimp the connector with a Dupont crimping tool.4. Pull out the connector insulator (transparent color) more than halfway to close the connector. The socket is completely covered by the plug insulator and the plug has a "head" on the outside of the insulator, anything below the notch must be inside the insulator. The distance between the end of the insulator (cable side) and the end of the plug (cable side) is about 3mm (1/8 inch) (see attached photo).
