This collar is pretty cute. I would probably only use it for evening walks, but it would be perfect for that. There is a small on/off button on the clasp/clip of the collar (where the two ends connect) which will light up when you press this small plastic part of the collar in the first mode - there are a total of 3 different lighting modes. The first mode is a bit confusing if you don't know what to expect. in mode 1: 3 color lights turn on at the same time for a few seconds, then all 3 lights turn off at the same time. then after a few seconds all 3 turn on again. It is an on and off cycle with on and off for a few seconds. (I mention this because I was convinced the battery was low and that's why the light went out every time I turned it on. It took me a while to figure out that's exactly what it does!) mode 2 is much more animated. it alternates between lights repeatedly. then mode 3 is like strobing each light but it rotates around all three lights. I tried to make a video to show what's going on but it wouldn't load properly.
