Did you manage to turn an old dumb TV into a Smart TV!
I'm one of those folks who took advantage of it and bought it to make a very old but still great working bedroom TV out of a dumb TV. to a smart TV by connecting a FireTV flash drive. That helped. My TV is so old I forgot how old it is (15+ years old) so the only HDMI connection is the output. The rest of the TV has a great picture and works perfectly. I had to add a two-way A/V RCA cable to connect it, which I already had, but the plug for the converter is USB, so you'll need an outlet or surge protector with inputs for that. Worked for me!
