I bought this bracelet after watching some bracelet making videos. In one they used Opelon. Although it's a bit thicker than the most elastic, I've put it through the beads twice (about 8/0) as I always make two strands for my bracelets, including Opelon, although I don't think it ever snaps or unravels will wear out. . I suspect that really coarse beads can wear out over time, but Opelon is made up of many fibers, so wearing down one or more won't wear down the entire strand. I will only use rubber bands if I have beads that I can't thread my opelon through.
