Good backpack for the money - definitely made for tall people

This is a pretty good bag for the money and it seems to work well for what I need it for (short term winter hikes, no more than 1/2 days). However, a few things bother me. First off, I'm a petite woman - 5ft 2in, just under 100lbs - and the chest strap is useless after adjusting the shoulder straps tight enough to fit me, even in the highest position. I'm buying for an "after sale" chest strap and plan on cutting off the existing ones. If you are a petite (5ft 2in or less) woman with large breasts, this will be even worse for you. Second, the straps are really wide and very stiff. It's fine if you keep your hands at your sides while hiking, but if you're using trekking poles and reaching forward (and a small person like me) you'll be uncomfortable as they're stiff and restrictive. I could imagine them even rubbing your hands after a few hours. To be honest I hope they 'break' with frequent use but this could have been avoided with less stiff straps - maybe foam straps. (I've come to the conclusion that it's only a factor that it's made for tall people, otherwise the widest part of the straps would sit on your shoulder since you wouldn't close them like smaller people. Finally, the backpack feels feels a little heavy to me at the bottom, like it's not well balanced - so it kind of hangs down from the upper back even with the straps tightened (hopefully if I find some chest straps that work they'll fix that problem, but that's a shame it's a pretty good backpack in the end - lots of pockets and external straps which are handy for strapping on extra gear, snowshoes or anything else you don't need or don't fit in a backpack it's very light for its size. Those were the things I was looking for the most so I'm hoping to make a few tweaks to make it work Uhh backpack Werd e update my review after taking it out a few times and can confirm its durability/water resistance etc.
