This dress is good value for money. The fabric is on the stiff side, but it doesn't scratch or rattle and hangs well. Please note that the waist belt is just a satin ribbon that can be bought at any store, not a fabric ribbon. However, this means you can easily remove and swap out bands of other colors should you wish. The only downside I have is that they are really small, probably because they are made and shipped straight from China. My perfectly average height 6.5 year old fits this dress. I can't even imagine that an average sized 9 year old would fit in here. Also, the armpit opening is quite wide, probably because my daughter doesn't usually wear a size 9/10 in anything. Based on other reviewers I ordered this larger size and am very glad I did. A simple hand-sewn tuck under each armhole solves the gap problem. Overall I am happy with this purchase and would recommend this dress.
