A simple timer with an ugly display, beep and auto shut off

This digital kitchen timer from Knightsped is compact, good looking and very affordable. But. The LED display is extremely small, rather dark, low-contrast and actually only easy to read at close range and almost just before the timer. Thankfully, it has a rear kickstand that lets you mount it just about anywhere you'd like, which is your only chance to view and read this display. This timer has only 3 control buttons, which seems to be becoming commonplace. instead of the 5 or 6 buttons that have been standard for decades, even on inexpensive digital kitchen timers. Lost in this development, the clock button β€” along with the hour display β€” isn't the most commonly used part of a kitchen timer, but it's still a significant loss. The clear/reset button is gone too, now it's compensated by pressing the minute and second buttons at the same time, which works but is definitely worse. against) in favor of almost all people over 40 years of age. This timer describes itself as loud, and in fact it does well or badly for raising an alarm when the timer is up, but too loud to hold and set the timer. it would be better if the volume of the key press signal was reduced; and it's just a mistake to repeat the beep when you press and hold the button to set the time; Extremely frustrating and useless, the timer insists on beeping very loudly, about 60 times right in front of your face and in your hands, to set the timer to 60 minutes. The auto-shutoff feature (after just 25 seconds of inactivity) is nothing short of ridiculous given that these types of devices draw almost negligible amounts of power. I have a similar West Bend timer/clock that is always on and runs for years on a single AAA battery. It is better if the developers of this timer put a bit of engineering into the auto-off and instead reduce the volume of the beep when the buttons are pressed below the level of the beep when the timer expires and limit the beeps to only one button press. .If you set this timer and it doesn't start counting down/counting down until more than 25 seconds has passed - which is most likely for me - then when you start it myself it turned itself off; So you need to notice it and press "Start" again. How ugly! Especially considering they went out of their way to make it work so poorly and unsuccessfully, just a fake demonstration of politically correct power conservation. It's a cheap basic timer but hard to see and read, definitely too much. noisy and bad auto shut off. Accordingly, I award 2 stars.
