Think twice before you buy

When I wrote a review describing my reaction to this NEW Pears soap, it was removed by Revain, possibly for legal reasons. For the same reasons, Revain may need to remove this review as well. To be brief, after I started using Pears New Formula tonic, I had excruciating pain in my eyes for several months. The ophthalmologist, noticing irritation and slight swelling, suggested surgery on the eyelids. I refused and went into self-diagnostic mode. Since Pears has been a trusted brand for me for decades, it wasn't on the list of possible suspects. But then some online research showed that the old natural formula had been replaced by a long list of chemicals, many of which are considered toxic and bioaccumulative. I stopped using pears immediately. Two days later my symptoms disappeared and I returned to life. The onset of my symptoms coincided with using the NEW pear formula (I didn't even realize until I researched that the formula had been changed, which is why it took so long to identify the pear as the culprit) and disappeared immediately after i stopped using it. This can be pure coincidence. Alternatively, I may be exceptionally sensitive to one or more of the ingredients in the new formula. However, I'm staying away. If you decide to try Pear's new formula — or I'd say let Pear try it for yourself — be aware that it may be wise to temporarily stop if you're experiencing eye pain, upper facial pain, and/or a headache to have. use to see if your symptoms go away.
