Review on Marseille solid soap with olive 4 x 100 g, La Cigale (France) by Ada Kowalczyk ᠌

Not happy with this product, bad in use.

If you want authentic Marseille soap, look for soap from one of the following certified soap makers: La Savonnerie du Midi La Savonnerie Le Serail La Savonnerie La Licorne La Savonnerie Rampal-Latour La Compagnie des Detergents et du Savon de Marseille Etablissements Marius Fabre Jeune Only they have the right to produce real Marseille soap, there are no other certified Marseille soap factories in France. Accordingly, the soap factory Savonnerie de l'Atlantique, which makes La Cigale soap, does not have such a certificate, moreover, it is not located in the south of the country in Marseille, but in the west - in Nantes.

Pros
  • Imported (Made in France), cheap for Marseille soap.
Cons
  • This is NOT Marseille soap. The main ingredient here is Sodium Tallowate (sodium tallowate), that is, sodium salts of fatty acids obtained from animal fat. Real Marseille soap can only contain vegetable fats (according to the decree of Louis XIV of 1688). If soap based on animal fats does not bother you, then you can look in the direction of good 2022 soap, which, fortunately, is also available. Small businesses will thank you.
