Sturdy cat scratching post

So far, so good. My cat weighs about 10 pounds and so far the number one factor in deciding whether or not she's interested in a scratching post has been her strength. There are plenty of cheap scratching posts that just fall off when she tries to use them, but not here. I chose the apartment style because the price was right and I thought it would more or less guarantee a solid foundation, which it did. The stands seem to be holding up well. It's only lasted a week but the rope isn't wearing out yet (again, lower quality poles can start shedding rope fibers after the first scratch in my experience). I don't expect it to last forever, but if I can use it for even a year I think the $25 is a good investment. I will let you know if anything happens that causes me to drastically change my mind about this product.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Insecure
