I have had Otterbox on my iPad mini for a number of years and it has done a great job of protecting my four children from many bumps and drops. However, over time it wore out and had to be replaced. I chose this case and I am very happy with it. First, it's obviously a lot cheaper than the Otterbox, but it seems to do a great job of protecting the iPad. It's also a lot lighter than the Otterbox, making the iPad easier to hold in your hand. I've had it for about six weeks and it has protected the iPad very well, even after being dropped a few times. Given the price and durability, I definitely recommend this product.
