My first 77A9G came out on April 16th. We removed our 12 year old Pioneer Kuro 6020 and replaced it with the A9G. Nice picture. Not a fan of the Android TV operating system, but I mostly use an AppleTV 4K, so no problem. I downloaded the Android 9 update, made some image tweaks and thought we were good. After 3 days, while watching a movie, the screen suddenly turned off and the power indicator flashed red 4 times. I've followed all the troubleshooting steps but based on what I've seen on the web I'm under the impression that the power supply board has failed. So I contacted Sony support (chat). Their concierge contacted me a day later and they sent a new TV. As best as possible under the circumstances. My second 77A9G lasted 15 days before failing in the same way. There are enough views online that this doesn't seem like an isolated event, but is it happening so quickly? I can't think of what I could have done to cause this as Kuro was hooked up to the same APC H15 power conditioner. So now I'm waiting for the concierge to decide what's going to happen next, and my trusty Kuro is back in his seat, sitting in front of my expensive, quiet XBR. Sony has never been like this.
