First of all I received this item from the manufacturer for free in exchange for my honest review. I tried light in different ways. I needed it most to trim my dog's nails so I could see in a room that wasn't brightly lit. It helped me see clearly and have my hands free to tend to the dog. However, the light is very bright and it seemed to bother my dog when he looked at me. I asked others to tell me that the light was very bright throughout the room. That's both good and bad. Good for the task you're trying to do, bad for having others in the same room. I've also tried it both sitting and lying down. It worked well for both. The only problem I had was that when you look at something like a store advertisement on glossy paper, the light is so bright it's reflective and hard to read. Regular books work great! I'm still not sure what the included "activity and balance group" is for. This is a piece of elastic band about 8 inches long with a Velcro closure. There is also a smaller velcro strap to attach the flashlight around the neck to keep it in place so I don't know what the extra item is for. The part behind your neck is hard plastic, quite cold and hard, but that didn't really bother me after the light was in place. All in all, this will be a good buy.
