Purchased for Ft-1802M 2m Radio The radio had a twisted pair universal replacement microphone cable that was already in poor condition at the RJ 45 end. I bought this microphone. But when the mic is off the radio will light up on both the old mic and the new mic, turning off the mic is the only solution. I don't see anything in the manual, but does the mic still have power when the switch is on or not? Works well. P-1,2,3,4 keys and DTMF workplus keys up and down work. The sound is clear. The RJ 45 crimp connection is reliable. - I didn't want to pay $65 for the Yaesu brand, it works. But can there be a difference between the manufacturer's microphone and what turns the microphone light on when the radio is off? Any input is welcome, also I think the mic is up to spec and also a nice long cable on the mic.
