I've been using shaving soap for about 2 years (razor for 6 months) and it has become my daily soap! First the smell! That's wonderful! I'm the type where my cologne is the scent I'm supposed to smell and when you mix other scents it just throws everything away. It almost has a baby powder smell that goes away after shaving. No persistent smell. Second, the foam is great! It differs slightly from pure oil/glycerine soaps, but that's to be expected as it's fat based. Of course it contains oil/glycerin, but that's not the main ingredient. I found I had to load the brush a little more and use a little less water in the bucket to get really thick lather. When I'm in a hurry and don't have time (or messed up) to get a really thick lather, it still provides a good shave without nicks. I have to say that I'm just a guy who loves to shave. and I was not paid in any way or given stuff for free. I had to take the plunge by paying to try it first!
