I just put it on the floor. Then hit the ball a few more times to make sure it's dead. Then I threw it in the trash. Then I washed my old keyboard in the dishwasher, dried it with a hair dryer and let it cool down. The keys aren't very resistant to dust and the spacebar is spring-loaded, making it very difficult to reinsert. if you want to clean it properly. I thought about washing the dishes, but I didn't have time. I just couldn't stand the spacebar and figured it would be best if I just destroyed it. The keys on my old keyboard that came with the stock Acer Predator Orion are flatter, easier to type on, obviously waterproof, and much easier to press. I also like writing and typing fast and after limited usage I didn't respond to AWSD for gaming and the spacebar was the worst. As I typed, my thumb grew tired from the force required to press the spacebar. I was dying on games like Division 2 where you had to hit the spacebar to dodge a lot. That's better. The experience was good initially but it lasted about a month. From now on I use a keyboard with flat keys instead of keys with large keys. I thought about returning it, but it was a lot more enjoyable to throw a tantrum and learn from it.
