Working with my Mac and storage were my top considerations when purchasing this camera. and it had to be high definition. This is my first true high definition camcorder. I love how sharp and clear the image is (as I've been shooting on digital tape for many years). I'm using the highest resolution (FXP at 17 Mbps vs XP+ 12 Mbps. Standard play 7 Mbps. Long play 5 Mbps.) So buy a cheap 2TB hard drive and go for it. The R11 features a range of digital effects, light balance settings and special settings such as fireworks and low light. I used both on July 4th with great success. I chose the R11 for the 32GB of onboard RAM (then pop a 16GB card in the slot - get at least a 10x card). There is no lack of space. They're not kidding when they say 12 hours in high definition. This is internal storage only. This camera works perfectly with my iMac Intel i7 and iMovie '11 (also works with FinalCut X). Fully connect and import. Then I delete or save clips from there. I don't have any of the problems mentioned by Mac users in other reviews. One "downside" is that it doesn't allow for a really large extended battery. So I immediately bought a backup battery with a charger. I highly recommend this camera. hp There are many additional features and settings that I haven't even used yet. There's a lot more out there.
