Like other reviewers I've read, my first experience with this "light" wasn't brilliant. When I first assembled and plugged it in, I was greeted by a flash of light that lasted about 2 seconds, then the lamp went out. Only when disconnecting and connecting after some time did the lamp reset, and then only for 2 seconds. I assembled and hooked up the replacement bulb and it works great. I didn't expect it to produce as much light as it does. The remote works well for switching on and off as well as setting the timer (preset to run at the same time every day at the set time). She also customizes the wide range of colors and color patterns this tree can produce. The physical 'tree' has a black metal base into which a 'branch' is inserted and tightened with a screw. The branches need to be unfolded and fluffed up. Each branch has a single light at the end. The lamp is fitted with a long cord and requires a special power supply (included) or will work. Knots, the wood is all black so it blends into the environment of my living room The only thing that worries me recommending this wood seems to be a significant amount of flaws but if you are willing to take the risk and that to get what works i think you will be satisfied s results.
