Doesn't work if you have a thick Defender case on your phone. UPDATED

It just doesn't work if you have a heavy, long, thick phone case. I have one of the Defender phone cases and it cannot connect to the phone. You have to remove the thick heavy case to install it. It would be so perfect if you could take photos outside your house and view them instantly on your phone and also add them to google images from your map to your phone. What is wrong is that the base of the adapter is too wide and won't fit in the slot through the Defender case. (My phone is a Pixel2 XL) I didn't think this would be a problem before I bought it as the charging cable fits perfectly into the case, but the charging cable doesn't have the steps that this device has. Not worth sending it back so I'll just eat my losses and throw it in a drawer with all the old phone cords and adapters that are now obsolete. I hope my writing can save someone else from making the same mistake I just made. UPDATE: Please read, I found a very cheap USB Type-C converter here on Amazon and the device is now working perfectly. I don't like that it doubles the length by adding a converter. But it works (Male to Male Type-C Adapter, USB 3.1 Type-C 10Gbps Extension Converter). It's pretty easy to use if you can connect it via USB. You insert your card into the device and connect Type C USB to your phones). Go to storage, click on portable storage, click on the camera icon and all your photos are there. Pretty quick and easy to learn. Once you realize you found photos in your vault on your phone. Now that it works for me I've increased the star count. I take hundreds of photos a day for several days, and it saves a lot of time waiting to get back to my computer to view them at a larger size. Not perfect. but not bad at all.

Pros
  • Computer Accessories and Peripherals
Cons
  • I don't really dislike it, it's ok
