I have had this brand of deodorant for many years. Unfortunately, when ordering two spares to prepare for the phase out, I forgot to open one before the return deadline. When I opened it I encountered three problems: 1) the color was different (darker than my current one) and was noticeable, but I ignored it at first because who cares what color your deodorant is; 2) it didn't smell like my current one, which is very important when buying because of the smell!; and 3) at the end of the first day, it failed miserably as an effective deodorant! Well, what's the goal if it doesn't work effectively. That is a big problem! I tried it alternately with my old one for a few days and it just isn't an effective all day deodorant and smells different. I will buy mine at the department store again instead of throwing good money away. I don't know if they are fake or old stock or why there might be a difference but I lost almost $40 and am very unhappy. . I wish I had missed the return window but I just didn't feel the need to open it immediately upon receipt.
