Review on Feit Electric FC12 840 LED by Tim Loya

When I opened up the bulbs, I first installed them the same way I installed the fluorescent bulbs they replaced. When I first flipped the switch on they lit up straight away and there weren't any ballast issues they warned about in the booklet that came with them. (Revane, I suggest you include this in your description.) Another thing I wasn't prepared for is that there is an "up" side and a "down" side. (Again, Revain, please include this information as well). Light is only emitted from one side. In my original setup, the light side was facing up toward the ceiling, not down like I'd like. I had to turn them upside down to let the light fall down, but that opened up new problems. The pins on the pipes were now pointing up into the ceiling, making it EXTREMELY difficult to connect the power cords without them pushing the pipes out of the support rings on the bracket. I finally made it and they light up my office very nicely. It is not yet known how long they will be securely fixed in the device. By the way, I'm a professionally trained electrician so this should have been an easy task and it turned out to be a lot harder than it should have been. Very frustrating. I called FEIT support and informed them of this situation. The man was a pleasure to deal with, he apologized for the inconvenience and said he would contact his technical department. For now I think it's a good product, but the design needs a little tweaking to allow for smarter and easier installation.
