We live in Minnesota and have dealt with sub-zero temperatures and tested this while standing at windy and cold bus stops. I originally bought these for us because my 7 year old son has a hard time getting tighter masks on his head. He likes this piece because it fits right on his head with ease. I love him as a woman because he doesn't ruin my hair and as a wearer of glasses because he doesn't fog up my lenses as much. It has a thick polyester fur lining that slips through your hair, and it extends just enough in the chest area to block any wind that might come through your coat's neck. We like to wear it under parka hoods for added protection, but it's not really necessary. Adult size fits my 7 year old. It has laces on the face that can be tightened around a smaller head. I wish there was another adjustment at the back of the hood to keep it from riding too far forward, but so far I've been fine with pulling it back just a little before putting on the parka hood. I will buy a few more of these.
