I have chronic Lyme disease which, among other things, caused me to go blind in the lower half of my right eye. Over the years, when using a computer, I've developed a compensatory habit of lowering my chin to look over the defect in my vision. As you can imagine this caused headaches, neck problems etc. My husband saw a picture of a monitor riser recently while looking for something else. We were so excited when we thought of using this so I can maintain a more normal head angle when using my computer! I ordered this monitor and we put it together VERY easily - it even has a handy little assembly tool. I am VERY HAPPY to report that I can now research for hours without the physical discomfort I have been experiencing for several years! Truly this was a stroke of luck for me. When you have Lyme disease there is enough pain and discomfort all the time without focusing on muscle and joint pain because you are just doing what you have to do each day. There are little drawers for all my stuff - pens, pencils, batteries, glasses etc. I can store my keyboard downstairs when not in use so my cats don't activate my computer. It's very well thought out, very reasonably priced and has had a tremendous positive impact on my work and my comfort while working - I LOVE THIS MONITOR STAND!
