Review on Revamp Your Gelcoat with Perfect 36101 Gelcoat Cutting Compound! by Michael Lucas

Over the last 15 years I've used quite a few different compounds on my boat. This product stands head and shoulders above the rest. This made the white gelcoat brand new on my 2005 boat with minimal fuss. I used a 3M 33280 wool disc at about 1000 rpm and medium pressure. Don't just touch the pad with the boat, push it down a bit and this product will get the job done. I used a pad cleaning spur to clean the wool pad every time I added fresh compound. After using this heavy compound I went straight to 3M Perfect It 36113 Wax. My boat looks great. Almost new. I was very happy to see that I didn't have to do 2 intermediate steps (medium and light) before waxing. Absolutely not necessary. Next year I will go straight to a light finish if needed before applying the 36113 wax.
