Not practical for trimming small stamps as there is no reverse side on one side. This should be disclosed in the written description. It sticks to the scissors, and then the sticky material is pulled up and rolled into a ball. It is only suitable for use on large sheets of paper, which is wasteful when used on stamps as they are usually much smaller than a large sheet of paper, and double-sided tape is really only useful for complex stamps, which are often small, or small in one dimension. I simply use the ATG 700 tape applicator and apply the double sided tape in strips to small pieces of cardboard, then cover the cling film with contact paper release paper until ready to be taped. It would be much, much cheaper.
