My answer is to have a Port Freight (Pittsburgh) 4 in 1 screwdriver in a box of Fiskars. can be purchased for anywhere from $0 to $1.99 depending on sale, and while it is by no means a mechanical instrument, it is more than adequate for small household jobs.
