does the job but you pay for it

I gave this product away as the "Otter Box" was specifically requested. I give credit to the company for creating strong brand awareness. The price premium for similar products is enormous. I was trying to estimate what the cost of raw PP or PU would be compared to the $30+ I paid for this iPhone 12 case, maybe $0.15-$0.20 (probably fewer). When you weigh the costs down with every conceivable overhead, the gross margin should be over 90%. I would buy Otterbox stock if I could.
