Works well with a few minor issues

I bought this unit to connect our kitchen TV to a bluetooth speaker. I took out my magnifying glass to read the instructions and put it back in after a few minutes. There's no pairing button, but when it's turned on, it goes into pairing mode and automatically connects to another device when that device is in pairing mode. Minor problems concern the battery and the power button. The battery only lasts a few hours, so if you're using it as a stationary device, you'll always need to use a USB power source. First, I had a short charging cable plugged into the TV's USB port, which works well, but when you turn off the TV, the device loses power. Since the battery only lasts a few hours, it switches itself off overnight due to a power failure. When you turn the TV back on, the device doesn't turn on and you have to press and hold the power button for a few seconds. The red LED stays on and flashes blue briefly to indicate it's on, but since the LED stays red because the charger is on, you can't tell if it's on or off. When the device is running on battery power, the LED flashes approximately once per second. Perhaps a better indication of status would be if their LED turned green when plugged in. To turn off the device, press and hold the power button, but since the red LED stays on, you don't really know if you really turned it off. I would prefer an ON/OFF slider as that would solve the power issue. If power is turned off, the device will automatically turn back on after power is restored and paired with the speaker.

Works as described, but take note of the battery life...
