I've been using white noise and fan noise for my kid since he was about 3 years old. After we built our house, our tall neighbor on the one hand had to move because of his work and sold his house to a new family who has been nothing but rude and annoying for the past 15 years. When my child was only 3 or 4 years old, after dark they would go into the backyard and yell and play, sometimes even after quiet hours. I soon learned of the benefits of having that white noise in his room. So he's been using an air purifier and a fan ever since. He's so used to it that when he's traveling, on vacation, or visiting family, he has trouble sleeping because of unfamiliar noises. So I have a few of these that I have collected over the years so I always had four or five on hand and I would replace them with better ones if the new ones worked better. It's probably at the top. two or three as far as the noise goes. I love that each type of sound has its OWN rotation. So I don't have to go through a bunch of OTHER noise types to get different fan noises. Or I don't have to go through many musical options to get to nature sounds. I can only press one button to select the sound type. Then another button to cycle through the different sounds of this type. The only downside is the lack of light, which seems like a minor downside for something that only plugs into mains rather than battery. We love the soft light in a strange hotel so he can easily find the bathroom at night without leaving brighter light elsewhere. Also, they missed the boat by not using a Type-C USB connector. I really dislike those who STILL use those old style USB connectors in 2022 as I'm trying to get rid of things that use those old style connectors. Since my son just finished school two days ago and is moving out in less than two weeks, I'll let him take this to his new location. He still takes his fan and air purifier with him, but when he's on the go he still has options.
