Review on πŸ”Š Optimized Polycom SoundStation IP 7000 by Sanai Rosario

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great standard SIP conference phone but needs more detailed instructions

I was a bit hesitant to buy this system for a new conference room due to SIP compatibility. However, I'm glad I did. We have SIP Allworxs and adding this phone to an existing system was no different than adding a regular IP phone. Although this phone comes with no instructions, there are many websites with guides on how to set it up with your current settings. Everything about the Soundstation works in our allworxs system (transfer, hold and dial) except the clock and I think parked call pickup. I haven't found a way to set the time manually and it just doesn't communicate properly with the servers. So I just gave up and turned off the clock. Finally, the incredible clarity of the microphone and speaker; It sits in the middle of an 18-foot conference table and can pick up the voices of those seated at either end. I ended up buying expansion mics to help with the echo. Echo is more of a conference room design than a phone design. Overall I'm rating this phone 4/5 minus one star due to the lack of instructions. I understand that they cannot provide instructions for every SIP system. At a minimum, Polycom should provide instructions on how to set up a dial plan and access the phone's web interface, or at least a link to an online resource, on a piece of paper.
