I wanted to use this item for my shrimp tank. Placing food in a specific location, e.g. B. on a plate, prevents the food on the substrate from crumble and cause some problems. My aquarium is 12 inches high and the pipe is perfect for reaching the plate. However, before using this item, I placed both the plate and tube in the water-filled sink and left them there overnight. This is my habit. I assumed before putting anything in my tank. The next morning, a strange chlorine-like odor filled the room. I emptied the sink and repeated the same procedure. However, the smell prevailed. I was able to determine that the source came from the utensil itself. No matter what I did to her, I couldn't rid her of that smell, so she was useless to my purposes. The silver lining was the pipe. I use it to put food on top of an almond sheet, not in that smelly dish!
