Review on πŸ–₯️ Samsung 171V Black LCD Monitor with 1280X1024 Resolution by Kyle Diego

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good. It's good but not perfect

So first let me say that I play games and that is the main purpose of my computer. So I'm probably expecting better results than most people who will ever need an LCD. Setup was pretty easy, but be sure to install the drivers that came with it or everything looks too bright (I had default brightness on my gf4 4400). It looked a lot better after that, but still not the same. When I launched Counter-Strike, I immediately knew I needed graphics card settings because everything in the game was too bright. Finding the right balance is difficult because the monitor itself, the graphics card and the game have different settings for contrast, brightness, gamma, etc. I've finally found some settings that look decent but now I sometimes have to adjust the brightness from card to card as my crt has a larger brightness cariator which could be better overall I'm not sure yet. As for the monitor's in-game performance, everything went well. Of course, a CRT is still the best choice, but I often connect to a LAN and need a more portable monitor. From a distance, moving objects were sharper than on my old monitor, but there was blurriness up close. It doesn't look like you'll see footprints, so still aim for the right spot, it's just that the skin textures tend to blend. I tried everything later and in UT2K3, which is a very fast game, and again, apart from blurring on nearby objects, the image stayed sharp and there was no ghosting. I still have problems with the brightness in general. , I'm sure at some point I'll be able to tweak it somehow. Basically I need to reduce the brightness of white but not other colors. If I wasn't using this monitor for gaming, or at least fast gaming, I would most likely give it a 5. Image sharpness is incredible and colors are vibrant. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this for business use. While it really has nothing to do with the monitor itself but with the resolution, there is a setting in the panels to make text larger so you can compensate for the high resolution effect. (because the native resolution on this device is 1280*1024) So it's time to end this review. I'm happy with my new monitor, its flaws don't significantly affect gameplay, and if you don't even play games it doesn't get any better. I would recommend it as a great business monitor as well as a great network monitor. thank you for reading
