This is my first labeller so there is nothing quite like it. At the same time: Advantages: * Has sufficient versatility. (Not like a computer, but a wide range) * Has options in a frame or just letters. * Has a limited but still useful preview screen. * Allows multiple labels to be printed in a chain without a lot of unnecessary tape. .* Good looking and made of high quality materials so it won't stand out on the table.* Compact enough not to take up closet space when not in use. Cons:* HUGE waste of label tape. As with all modern printers, it's all about selling consumables! * Label tapes are very expensive. * The preview window is far from WYSIWYG. know it. * Unnecessarily complicated learning curve. Too many steps to do the simplest things. Overall, the labels it makes are beautiful, waterproof, and easy to find and read. So it's worth learning how to use once and wasting a lot of tape. trying to figure out what to do with it. TIPS: * I quickly learned to print out a sample of text in any size and font I like and tape it to the bottom of the device so I can make an informed decision about the caption without wasting a ton of tape to to see what suits everyone New label. (I actually created a chain of labels with the font and size by name: Atl 12 pt, Hel 12 pt etc etc etc for all sizes and fonts I would probably use since any size 12 font when printed to the size is greatly different, so you can not go.)----------------- ------------------ -- ---* Once I figured out how to reduce ribbon waste by creating a chain of labels without cutting them individually. I printed out a list of steps to do this and taped it right onto the label maker so I'll always remember how. Steps to print chain: label, box, chain, OK, type label, print. "Are you eating well?" = ESC or OK. Note. When you press 'Print' you will be asked if you can 'Serve?' where your answer will either be 'ESC' to create the next label with a tiny waste of tape or 'OK'. "Advance last label for cutting (i.e. large overflow of tape path). ------------------------------- -- ------- - ---------- I hope this helps others as it was quite a long process and a lot of wasted tape for me to figure it all out. :)
