I did a test. I put one in a room I don't use very often and then closed the door. I waited a week for the door to open and WOW, the room smelled clean and fresh. I also placed 1 where my litter box is and it helps keep the odor at bay. If you let them out in the sun once a month, they would be like new. It's essential for home use, and you don't need to buy any additional Glade plugins.
