This is already the 4th weighted blanket that I have tried. I've never been able to sleep with bubbly ones on without waking up hot and sweaty and throwing them off. I definitely sleep better with the weight on me. I slept with him all night and never got hot or sweaty. He stood still and didn't slip. It wants to curl up a bit at the edges but is easy to set up and big enough. It seems a little lighter than my beaded blankets of the same weight, but it's nice and easier to pull out from underneath. When opening the vacuum pack, there is a slight smell, but not bad, and it quickly disappears. Even dogs and cats love that feeling, and they all hated each other. I just wish this manufacturer would offer more colors. There are others that are more expensive and come in more colors. But I still wouldn't pay more for something I can't see in my dreams. And gray is a nice neutral color. Update: Have been using it for a few weeks now and still love it. The smell went away after 2 days. So far no pilling and only 2 small hooks and that with 2 dogs and a cat on it all the time.
