When I first received it I wanted to return it as the bottom was loose and dangling when locked in the eyepiece. I realized there is a very small hex bolt I could tighten and after that it was very strong. It is easy to align and make small adjustments once secured in the eyepiece. I find this helpful and recommend having a dedicated eyepiece so I can attach the adapter to the eyepiece before mounting it to the telescope so I can be sure everything is aligned and secure. I have to squeeze the clamps on the eyepiece to get it in place nice and tight, otherwise there might be a little looseness on the eyepiece (another reason a dedicated eyepiece really helps). I used to have an Orion universal adapter that was pretty good but too heavy for my telescopes (Meade etc.-90) with a horizontal clamp. The Carson adapter is almost 100 grams lighter and that's not a problem with my telescope. I really want to give it 5 stars, but the eyepiece locking mechanism could use some improvement, it can only be used in landscape mode (pictured).
