All in all, these winter pants from Columbia are great. As mentioned by other reviewers, the sizes run large. I have a large 5 year old and bought the XXS (4/5) on recommendation and am glad I did. It fits perfectly and he will be able to wear it next year because of the OUTGROWN SYSTEM feature. Size XS would have been too big for sure. The size chart on the winter pants reads: US XXS: 4/5 (I found this large for a 4 year old. Fits a 'regular size' 5 year old with some room to grow. Constant change since they remove the Seam that makes the pants shorter). 3. Lengthen the cuff of the pants (flared pants are about 2 inches longer after the drawstring is removed).
