Review on ๐ŸŽค SMK480M Singing Machine Kids Portable Bluetooth Sing-Along Speaker with Wired Microphone by Kay Daniels

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy to set up and kid friendly, but Bluetooth is shaky

Read the instructions from the box. Okay we didn't read the instructions (okay read this explanation I didn't read the instructions) but it was actually quite easy to put together this baby singing machine. Well basically. In any case, getting the singing machine out of the box was the most difficult task. It took a little care not to damage the singing machine, but we prevailed! Once everything was taken out of the box, it took a tiny Phillips screwdriver and three AAA batteries (not included) to open the battery compartment. to power the singing machine. There is a plug for the power supply, but the cable for this is not included. The microphone, labeled Mic Guy on the box, is a bit reminiscent of a servant. The microphone is connected to the back of the singing machine, where there are additional jacks for an additional microphone and an external audio input. The Singing Machine comes with a 20" line-in cable to connect it to any audio device with a compatible audio output. This singing machine contains many functions. The Singing Machine includes three pre-recorded songs and three pre-recorded sound effects. Singing can be recorded and the Singing Machine is Bluetooth enabled for music streaming from any Bluetooth enabled device. Well, although we have pointed out the features, we must also point out the disadvantages, of which there are two. First, it's a microphone. very sensitive to the distance to the microphone. This helps increase the volume, but the user's mouth should still be directly over the microphone. Of course, kids love to drool over the microphone, so distance doesn't matter to kids, except for the transmission of germs from one kid to the next. The microphone is on the verge of failing, but maybe a different microphone would be better. It would be an interesting experiment. For some people, the second option will make a big difference. Bluetooth communication is lame. Sometimes it's on, sometimes it's not. Of course, old-fashioned people who use a wired connection to the audio output have no problem with music in the Singing Machine. Now, these problems should be considered from the cost point of view. This singing machine is cheap to throw away. We've seen toys that should have been in this price range but are much more expensive, so our cost estimate is well above average. After dropping this singing machine in the bathtub (no AC adapter please!), or giving it a few spins through the sprinkler, or dropping a tea drink on it, throwing this thing away shouldn't cause a single tear. four stars. Well, a few points here. We deducted a star for the microphone, which could have been better, and fuzzy Bluetooth. However, if we were more attached to Bluetooth, we'd probably deduct more stars. Thankfully, we're still living in earlier decades (pick one) and our audio devices have audio output through the jack. Cheers skippy for us. Not so much for the iPhone generation. Being old-fashioned sometimes has its perks. Additionally, the value of this toy is great, which we think makes up for some of the shortcomings of the microphone and Bluetooth. So four stars! Enjoy!
