I liked the idea of a mat that would reflect HC's body heat back to him, but I'll admit I was a little skeptical about this as far as - HCs I used to not be a big fan of cat blankets. He ignored it at first so I let my husband sit on it for a few hours so he could smell it and voila! HK started sleeping on it. In fact, it's the first and only cat blanket he's ever liked. He's an adult cat who will soon be 18, so he's had a lot of beds and blankets that he hasn't used in years. He spends hours and hours every day doing this. He prefers the brown side to the leopard side I think due to the different texture. The leopard side has a silkier feel while the tan side does not. We like to be able to wash the ones we have regularly so I decided to get a second one so we can rotate it because HC loves to be on the mat that much. Your cat's mileage may vary, but overall, we and our cat are very happy with the Purrfect Thermal Cat Mat.
