I stopped using all fake nails about nine months ago (before Covid-19). She refused acrylic, she refused gel polishes. So. My nails were thin, pitted, damaged. I've bought many products and here's what worked. After removing all polish, I soaked my nails in some soapy water to moisten them. I rubbed Elon well into the nail and cuticle. I did that a lot in the first few weeks, for example while watching TV. I found that the baths helped a lot. it filled the nail and Elon was sealed in moisture. I used styrofoam/emery to keep the nails very short. If longer, they delaminate and chip. A few weeks later I started using Nailtiques #2, paying special attention to the tips. This allowed me to rub Elon into the moons as often as possible. About every ten days I removed the nailtiques very carefully and did a night or two of soaking and elon. My nails do well with it. Now I spend very little on nail care. Foam nail file, Nailtiques and Elon are all I use (I had nail polish remover). For the cost of one manicure I have everything I need for six months.
