Review on mDesign Large Stackable Plastic Food Storage Organizer Bin Basket - Wide Open Front, Clear - 4 Pack by Tracy Johnston

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Non-stackable in kitchen and dining area

Very disappointed with this product. My pantry and half of my fridge are organized with mDesign bins. They work great and are durable. They look just as good and durable, but stackability is an issue. A halfhearted attempt is made to attach "hooks" to the bottom of each basket so that they connect to the corresponding basket below. Also the bottom is rounded/notched in addition to the "hooks" in an apparent attempt to make them stable when stacked. but the hooks are so small (almost in hindsight) that they can't hook. Also, the top edges of the bin sides are folded inwards at the center (particularly the long back) so that not only the hooks at the bottom of the bin (the bottom edge doesn't warp as the top edges don't "sit" in the bottom drawer ) don't hang on the bottom drawer, but the jagged bottom is useless because it doesn't fit the top of the bottom drawer. I stacked 3 of these and started filling bags and candy bars (we went crazy last Halloween. What can I say?) and it was like the Lucille Ball episode where she works on a conveyor belt in a factory. Since I kept catching these things as they slipped off b4, I figured it was a design/manufacturing error. If you don't want to fold them, then 4-5 stars. If you want to add them you will get my rating. Maybe just a bad batch, but I don't think so. I've noticed that other containers I use (and like) also have the sides folded up. But they're not meant to be stacked, so they work well.
