Review on πŸ’¦ Fashionista Deco Dots: Oversized Waterproof Shower Cap for All Hair Lengths - Reusable & Lined Shower Cap with Elastic Band - Hair Hat for Bath by Mary Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really nice shower cap, MUCH better than the cheap plastic caps!

I often skip washing my hair, sometimes to save time in the shower, but mainly because my hair behaves a little better when it has a day or two to relax. I've been using Sally Beauty $20 $5 disposable shower caps for years (well, used the same one until it got kind of pierced) and for some reason recently decided to get a nice, durable, stylish shower cap. I looked at a few options and settled on this Betty Dain Fashionista hat because it was prime, had a plastic lining and seemed to be of decent quality. There are several collections of Betty Dain hats that come in different shapes, different functions and so on. Some of them have a terry lining, others look fuller at the top, etc. This review is for the **Fashionista collection with PEVA lining* * .* This shower cap is of high quality. It is made of beautiful fabric on the outside and thick plastic on the inside. No protruding threads, strange seams and the like. It doesn't feel fragile at all and the plastic inside is solid without being too hard, sharp or "crispy". It does NOT make the sound of a plastic bag turning upside down when it hits water. * The hat fits very well, even with my hair gathered underneath, and is quite comfortable. For reference, my head isn't too big (S size helmet) but I have LOTS of hair (it touches my knees when I'm sitting) and it stays in place when I wash my face etc. This is very important . , cheap plastics tend to slip under the weight of the water. * Water falling on the outside of the lid will collect in drops and run off. Its surface was barely damp when I got out of the shower. I didn't completely drench it, but I'm sure I'll get wet - cheap stores are always full of little puddles that drip onto the floor when I reach for a towel.* The "head ring" from the elastic isn't as noticeable as it is on cheap shower caps . This is probably because the fabric doubles up where the elastic is. The stain is still there, but it's MUCH less noticeable and goes away quickly. The elastic section is soft and quite comfortable, but the downside is that the thickness of the elastic is squeezing my ears a little more than usual. I'm not taking a star off for that because I probably wouldn't have noticed if I was wearing contacts, but having put on my glasses at the time I noticed that the ear cavity/arm/elastic ratio was a little tight. .I don't see a need to change this cap anytime soon, but right now I'd definitely buy a different Betty Dane.[.]
