I didn't think it would be that easy, but it was. Didn't read the manual, only reviews. After a few trees and clips, I lowered myself into the hammock sooooo carefully. And also. Nobody died! Then my girlfriend got in. And no one has died yet! We're both very short people, so we had plenty of room to move around. She rose briefly and I sank so low that the fabric was enough to completely cover me. So safe from bugs lol. The wooden straps seemed very strong, as did the clips. The campground I've been to recommends 2 inch straps and they're only 1 inch, but on healthy large trees they showed no noticeable damage at all. Even wider belts would probably be welcome. The bag on this thing folds down into a very handy bag when the hammock is set up. Nice gesture. Didn't look closely but didn't see any stains on the fabric after a few hours of laying. I don't hear any rattling or anything like that. I felt absolutely safe. Bought on a whim and it made my girlfriend's birthday even more special. I'm a lucky tourist!
