Smells amazing and cleans like a charm - great for sensitive skin

Our son has eczema, so we're always looking for the best products that don't irritate his skin. I love the smell of powdered detergents, but we generally have to choose unscented products as chemical smells cause skin irritation and rashes. I enjoyed reading the reviews for this laundry soap but was a little hesitant to pull the trigger due to the negative comments about the size and lack of focus/smell. I followed my intuition and ordered a size smaller. I absolutely LOVE this detergent! I've tried it on about 8 loads and feel it's vastly superior to the detergent I've used before (fragrance-free, eco-friendly brand). Don't be intimidated by the small bottle. This stuff is very concentrated and a little bit of it goes a LONG way. The instructions say to measure inside the cap, but the cap is tiny and it's a messy process. I use a 1 ounce cup of medicine (the kind that goes on top of cough syrup) for ease of application. I have a new large capacity top loading HE washing machine. I pour the detergent to the brim of a 1 ounce cup and either place it in the liquid tray or pop it straight into the washer. Both work fine. What I like most about this cleanser (aside from cleaning well and not irritating my son's skin) is the smell. That's wonderful! Too much patchouli can smell like a crowded '70s concert, so I love the fact that it's paired with incense to balance it out. Once the clothes go into the dryer, I can smell the odor throughout the house and even outside (because the dryer vent comes out the side of my house). I didn't really believe the reviews about not needing fabric softener when using this soap, but it's absolutely true! I tested this several times and after removing the clothes from the dryer not a drop of static electricity was left on my clothes. After drying, the laundry smells slightly of washing powder. It's not enough for people to stop and notice when they're walking past you, but it's enough to get a nice scent while hugging your loved one. I would compare it to a touch of perfume on the skin. Yes, this laundry soap is expensive considering the size and comparing it to store brands, but it's worth the money for what you get. There's definitely 32 charges if you measure it carefully. I actually like the small size because it's easy to store and easy to pour and use. I will continue to buy this soap for its cleaning power, great smell and being hypoallergenic for our family with sensitive skin.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
