Tear off the skin - there is no protective seal.
First off the container wasn't sealed which tells me they could literally put anything in it. Secondly, I have never encountered such a wax in my life. It has the consistency of wood glue and won't peel off your skin at all if you accidentally put it down somewhere. I had to rub oil on my skin to wash it off as soap turns it into a creamy mass. I'm so thankful I put a test patch on my hand as it literally ripped my skin off. I wouldn't be surprised if it contained Gorilla Glue or some similar cost-saving chemical.
