Although they can be difficult to put on, they seem to work. I found my best technique to trim them 3-4 inches or the corners of the mattress (for convenience when crossing corners), adjust one corner and slide the strap along the edge of the mattress to the opposite corner. then connect. Then I do the same with the other strap. When changing sheets, it's best to remove the straps entirely, changing the way they're put on so they don't snap back midway between two mattresses (I did!). I actually found them difficult to fit over sheets which have very deep pockets so I don't use them on these sheets and the corners don't slide off as easily. Overall they work very well and don't seem to tear the sheets (yet). Yes, I would recommend her.
