I got exactly what I paid for. I like that the light diffuses very well without leaving any visible hotspots. My only issue was that the on/off button doesn't work when you connect the input via USB. This only happens when using batteries, which is an easy fix as I only have to buy AA batteries, but for now I have to disable the shield every time I want to turn it off, which can be quite a hassle depending on the position of the USB port. In my case it's in the cable compartment on my desk which is not easy to reach unless I'm distracted, great product at a great price, highly recommend.
