This cable is smaller, thicker and not as flexible as some other brands. Enough to affect the sound? no The other wire also costs twice as much! Again, copper-plated wire is only half the price. Does the sound get better/worse? Not for short trips. But copper plated wire is wasted wire. To be honest the lamp cord works and sounds great for most applications. Of course, audiophiles will make all sorts of claims and explain why one or the other is better. We can put it on an oscilloscope and see that the signals are identical at both ends. So why spend extra money? There's no real reason other than to say yes, I have quality OFC cable for my speakers. Now, oxygen-free copper makes all the difference for outdoor installations. However, the jacket here is not designed for outdoor use. Consider it good/better/better. This falls into the "Better" category and gives you quality wire at a reasonable price. You don't buy unnecessary wire or give up your firstborn, an arm and both legs to pay for it.
